How did I forget about this? I should hand my fantasy lover card back. A whole month dedicated to fantasy and I’m not prepared. Ok I can do this… I can rave about fantasy for a whole month.
A big thanks to Imyrl, Lisa and Jorie for hosting. You can find all the info HERE.
This month I’m hoping to catch up on some arcs as I got approved for more than expected. I may have picked up a whole heap of fantasy lately and I’ve got more coming, so I’ll show those off in the coming days and fingers crossed I will get a couple of reviews up. I’m way behind.
My super tentative TBR –
From Cold Ashes Risen (Book 3 of The War Eternal) by Rob J. Hayes – I’m finishing up a book this weekend and then I’m diving straight into this beast. I was so surprised to find it in my inbox yesterday. Eska is such a fucked up, driven, badass character, I can’t wait to see what happens next. Also this cover is hands down my favourite in the trilogy. If you haven’t started on this series yet, I 100% recommend it. Along The Razor’s Edge and The Lessons Never Learned are both out, and this one will be released at the end of the month.
The Half Killed by Quenby Olson – Freaking excited for this one.
Heroes Wanted, A Fantasy Anthology – I’ve read a few stories so far and they have all been top notch. The quality is consistent throughout.
Art of War Anthology – I had been eyeing this off for ages and it was free a week or two ago. I love a heap of the authors, so I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it.
The Gutter Prayer by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan – I got this for my birthday and have heard nothing but good things.
The Blood Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski – I’m slowly working my way through this series. I enjoyed The Last Wish.
Warrior of the Altaii by Robert Jordan – I love the Wheel of Time series, but I’m not expecting much with this one. I have seen really mixed reviews.
Obsidian by Alan Baxter – Magic and mayhem… I’m in.
Red Sister by Mark Lawrence (Reread) – I still haven’t read Holy Sister because I have issues when it comes to finishing series. My aim is to have them all read so I can get to The Girl and the Stars.
NetGalley TBR –
The Jealousy of Jalice by Jesse Nolan Bailey
White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton
The Raven Lady by Sharon Lynn Fisher – Book 1, The Absinthe Earl, was in my top 5 reads of 2019 so believe me when I say a squeal burst out of me when I saw this one on NetGalley. If historical fantasy is your jam, jump on the bandwagon. Think Irish mythology, lush descriptive writing and female characters that can stand on their own two feet.
Well that has turned into a massive tbr. If I get through 5 I will consider it a successful reading month. Are you participating in Wyrd & Wonder?

That’s one heck of a good month ahead for you 🙂
Loved Red Sister and you just made me remember that I have Gutter Prayer sat on my kindle waiting for some love.

I put of the Witcher series for so long. It’s only because of the tv show that i’ve finally started reading them.

I read Blood of Elves earlier this year and loved it! I wouldn’t shut up about it, and now my husband is reading it too.

Such a lot of good books. I’m also hoping to read Rob Hayes Razor’s Edge this month. So many books but I hope I can squeeze them all in.
Happy reading.
