Self-Published Fantasy Month

It’s back, and I’m almost prepared. This month long celebration of self-published fantasy began last year and I was super excited but a reading slump hit me in the face right as September started. Fingers crossed for a better attempt this year. A big thanks to Jason over at Off The TBR for coming up with it. Head over to his blog to see what he has planned. Stacking The Shelves

A weekly post where I can brag about my new books? Yes please. Granted I definitely won’t have something to post every week, I’ll just do it as required. I will be including everything from my purchases, to NetGalley, gifts and books from authors or publishers (haha as if I’ll get a book sent to me from a publisher).

Stacking the shelves Picture - Saturday meme

I went op shopping last weekend for the first time in what felt like forever and picked up a couple of books. I was lucky enough to be sent an arc by an author for review and I got approved for a book or two via NetGalley, one of which is the second book in a series, so I have to grab the first book in the next couple of days.

Physical books
Toffee by Sarah Crossan
The Thousand Names Django Wexler

NetGalley
Priest of Lies by Peter McLean
The Absinthe Earl by Sharon Lynn Fisher

O.W.L’s Magical Readathon

A Harry Potter inspired readathon

This is my fist time participating and I’m excited. Doing long running types of readathons/challenges is always a risky bet for me. I hate feeling like I’m forced to read something, I’m a total mood reader. But this looks really cool and I hate to feel like I’ve missed out. This readathon is different to any I’ve done before. December Wrap Up

The month ebooks went on sale and I overindulged.

It’s not my fault. There were just so many books that were either 99c or $1.99 that I clicked on a few to many. I did pick up a few for free as well which was awesome. I think what I find most exciting is that a chunk of them are self published. I’m not setting any major book related goals for 2019, but if I was, reading more self published books would definitely be one of them. Continue reading “December Wrap Up”
