WWW Wednesday

Today I have a super simple post to let the world know what I’m reading. Hosted by Taking on a World of Words, you answer 3 questions and hey presto, you are all done.

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

It’s May so it’s a fantasy only kind of month and I totally dig it. I came into the month with three fantasy books on the go and somehow started two others already and dnf’d one. Continue reading “WWW Wednesday”

Did someone say Wyrd and Wonder?

It’s time for my favourite event of the year. WYRD AND WONDER!!!!! The entire month of May raving about all things fantasy. Every type of fantasy. High, low, epic, magical realism, grimdark, urban, paranormal… All of it.

I think the big challenge this year will actually be producing reviews for what I’ve read and what I will be reading. I just counted and I have 15 partially written reviews that I could finish and post during May. All wonderful books, but I haven’t written a review in over a month, so you can see why I would be concerned about my ability to get shit done. Continue reading “Did someone say Wyrd and Wonder?”

Author recommendation – Alan Baxter

I’m pretty much the worst reviewer ever this year. I’m struggling to review everything I read and it has meant some truly brilliant books have slipped through the gaps. So I thought this would be a good way to alleviate my guilt while shoving my love of an author and his books straight into your eyeballs.

Alan Baxter is an English/Australian author, who writes dark, gritty, often brutal urban fantasy and horror, so I figured October would be the perfect time to showcase some of his work.

May Day by Josie Jaffrey

Blog Tour

May Day CoverSynopsis – If the murderer you’re tracking is a vampire, then you want a vampire detective. Just maybe not this one.

It’s not that Jack Valentine is bad at her job. The youngest member of Oxford’s Seekers has an impressive track record, but she also has an impressive grudge against the local baron, Killian Drake.
When a human turns up dead on May Morning, she’s determined to pin the murder on Drake. The problem is that none of the evidence points to him. Instead, it leads Jack into a web of conspiracy involving the most powerful people in the country, people to whom Jack has no access. But she knows someone who does.
To get to the truth, Jack will have to partner up with her worst enemy. As long as she can keep her cool, Drake will point her to the ringleaders, she’ll find the murderer and no one else will have to die.
Body bags on standby. Continue reading “May Day by Josie Jaffrey”

What I’ll be adding to the TBR next…

4 self-published fantasy books that are calling my name.

My tbr is a mammoth thing, it has taken on a life of it’s own and if I hadn’t started reading on my kindle, it would have probably filled my house and suffocated me. I don’t let that stop me though, I add to my book collection way to often. So I thought I would give you a look at the books I’m hoping to add to my collection soon. Continue reading “What I’ll be adding to the TBR next…”

May Wrap-Up

Here we are at the end of the month. I’ve been traversing through the fantasy worlds and ignoring the reviewing part that comes with being a blogger. I got lost a couple of times, as even with a clear map, I get distracted by all things bright and shiny. A big thank you to our fearless leaders Imyrl, Lisa, and Jorie, I am already looking forward to next year. Continue reading “May Wrap-Up”

Wyrd and Wonder – TBR

How did I forget about this? I should hand my fantasy lover card back. A whole month dedicated to fantasy and I’m not prepared. Ok I can do this… I can rave about fantasy for a whole month.

A big thanks to Imyrl, Lisa and Jorie for hosting. You can find all the info HERE.

This month I’m hoping to catch up on some arcs as I got approved for more than expected. I may have picked up a whole heap of fantasy lately and I’ve got more coming, so I’ll show those off in the coming days and fingers crossed I will get a couple of reviews up. I’m way behind.
