Dancing with fantasy and sci-fi, a kickass reading challenge

I was just checking in with a few blogs and came across a challenge that has piqued my interest. So much so I’ve decided to give it a whirl. Do I expect to complete it? No, I rarely finish the challenges I start as I over-estimate my staying power. Do I let that stop me from starting them? Also no.

December Wrap Up

It’s not my fault. There were just so many books that were either 99c or $1.99 that I clicked on a few to many. I did pick up a few for free as well which was awesome. I think what I find most exciting is that a chunk of them are self published. I’m not setting any major book related goals for 2019, but if I was, reading more self published books would definitely be one of them.

Top 10 books on my Fall Spring TBR

As someone who normally reads 8-15 books per month, the last couple of months have sucked reading wise. Not the quality, but the quantity has been low, recently I only got through one book in the entire month. I have had stuff on, I know that your reading pace can change, life changes and you change. Mine was very much a case of I lost my mojo. In June, due to some rereads, I feel some sense of satisfaction with the amount that I have read. The joy that I have gotten from it. I’ve been inconsistent with blogging and such, I always will be, I think its part of my personality. But I had fun with it all.

May Haul

In May I was lucky enough to pick up some amazing books, go to a bookish event and join a book club, in which I’ll get to talk books with people in real life. Real people, face to face… Cue social anxiety. So that was all great.

IT WAS MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Yes, at very old, I finally made my way to a book event. It was for LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff. We got to hear him chat, ask him questions and he signed our books for us. Best night. I’m so glad I finally put my general dislike of the world to the side and ventured out. Such a great night. He seems like a really nice guy and a total booknerd like the rest of us.

This month my reading/bookstagram/reviewing mojo is coming back. I’ve decided; I’ve had enough of tv and the school holidays are over, so the slump is over. I’m done, I’m kicking that fucker out and forcing my mojo to come back.
