I had a pretty great reading month, I didn’t 100% stick to my tbr, I guess my mood reader ways can’t be tamed, but for the most part I read some great books. I haven’t picked up a book in the last week. I’m not sure why. Emotionally it has been a big couple of months and I think I’m burnt out.
I watched a Jolt, on Amazon. Kate Beckinsale is such a badass babe. It wasn’t the best movie but I didn’t have to think or feel for 90 minutes so that was nice. I also watched a few episodes of New Girl. I love it but only watch 2-3 episodes every few months, so it’s going to take me forever to get through. (I’m still on season 1). I also started The Good Doctor. It will also become a show I only watch every now and then, so I’ll never get through it. And last night I decided to introduce the 16yr old to Underworld as she hadn’t seen it yet and as expected she bloody loved it and is planning on watching the rest of them as soon as possible.
Onto the books I’ve read. I’ve continued my romance obsession this month with a side dabble into Gemma Amours’ writing. I love her, she always hits the nail on the head, she writes the female experience so bloody well. I think Gemma’s books are usually considered horror, but don’t let that put you off if you don’t normally read the genre.

These two books couldn’t have been more different, but they are both superb. Absolutely worth all the hype they receive. The writing in Priest is possibly some of the best I’ve come across in the romance genre. Sierra Simone made her way to the “I Must Read Their Entire Collection” list, as did Coralee June. Malice was dark and twisted, emotional and kinky. It was so dark, please check trigger warnings, and I absolutely loved it. I immediately purchased a paperback copy.

Tate James can do no wrong, so I thoroughly enjoyed The Vixen’s Lead. I’m excited for the rest of the series, but I can’t read past the first book in a series at the moment, so I haven’t been able to finish it. It’s a really sexy book. Dear Laura was a little palette cleanser. It’s twisted and brilliant. Her Soul to Take consumed me for a while. I managed to pace myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was really hot. I loved it. There was some forked tongue action. My poor friend was getting random messages at all hours of the night with me screaming about this book lol.

I’m all for honesty so I will say it… An Uneasy Alliance was one of the most poorly written pieces of shit I’ve ever read. I was so angry after reading it because it was such a waste of my time.
Of the twelve books I read, eight were from my original tbr, which is pretty impressive for me. For some reason I’m having troubles continuing series that I have started. Even when the books are awesome, I just can’t get through them. It’s weird.
I’m in a bit of a slump at the moment, so who knows what I will be reading next.
