Ok, that title is shit, there is no debate. It rhymed in my head and so I had to use it as a title. Anyways, my old ass recently ventured onto tiktok, and well, it’s a lot. But I found a whole bookish community on there and I was so excited. I’ve mostly come across romance readers on there, so if you are on there and rec fantasy, please let me know.
And now to the point of this. I found that a lot of the same books are being talked about again and again. It seems everyone is into the same 5-10 dark romance/smutty books. As someone who is a big fan of romance with a heavy dash of fairy porn, I wondered why I had missed all these books. I’m using June to explore and talk about all the romance that are being recommended on TikTok. So if you aren’t a fan of romance, skip most of my posts this month.
While making my selections for this month, I’ve done my best to cover a few of the popular tropes, including some of my favourites. –
Tate James– She seems to be universally loved and I haven’t read a reverse harem in years, so I’m looking forward to trying her Madison Kate series, starting with Hate.
Katee Robert – She is talked about constantly on TikTok. I’m diving into her Come Undone series which starts with Wrong Bed, Right Guy.
T.M Frazier – I have started with her King series. I’ve read book 1 and well, um, all the paranormal romance I read may have ruined me for contemporary romance. I’ll let you know what I think after I try book 2.
Penelope Douglas – I’m not sure which Douglas book I’ll pick up. I have a heap of her books marked as want to buy, so probably one of those, or if you have a favourite, please let me know. Okay, scratch that. I’m going with Tryst Six Venom, the cover is phenomenal and I had to mix it up with a F\F bully romance.
Tillie Cole – I have seen her name around for a while but never gave her a shot. I am starting with It Ain’t Me, Babe, book 1 in the Hades Hangmen series as I saw it recommended for those who like a dark, trauma filled story line.
Finally I have been wanting to read The Deal by Elle Kennedy for so long, but for some reason haven’t gotten to it, so when I came across it for free on Kindle, I couldn’t say no. I’m assuming it will be my tame read of the month, but am 100% looking forward to it.
And that is my list. Time to see if these books are worth the hype. If you have any recommendations for me, please leave them in the comments.
