Brought to us by the kickass ladies at Storytellers on Tour, I have another book to bring to your attention. Yay for blog tours and all the new authors and books they are introducing me to.
Synopsis – Legends describe the Maer as savage man-beasts haunting the mountains, their bodies and faces covered with hair. Creatures of unimaginable strength, cunning, and cruelty. Bedtime stories to keep children indoors at night. Soldiers’ tales to frighten new recruits.
It is said the Maer once ruled the Silver Hills, but they have long since passed into oblivion.
This is the story of their return.
Carl, Sinnie and Finn, three companions since childhood, are tasked with bringing a friend’s body home for burial. Along the way, they find there is more to the stories than they ever imagined, and the mountains hold threats even darker than the Maer. What they discover on their journey will change the way they see the world forever.
Travel down Hollow Road to find out which legends are true, and which have been twisted.
In Hollow Road you will find a fast paced story, with plenty of action, magic and most importantly three complex characters who absolutely shine throughout the tale. Sinnie, Carl and Finn are amazing characters, three childhood friends whose lives have taken many twists and turns, but come together again to take a friends body back to rest at their childhood home. Each character has an interesting backstory, they all have well developed personalities, and they each hold your attention. I was expecting for Hollow Road to be Carls’ story, but I was wrong. The author has done a fantastic job of making sure each character had their share of the spotlight.
I liked that the story included a diverse range of main characters and the way the Maer’s storyline was developed. I think Hollow Road is a story best discovered as you go, so I’m not going to delve to much into the plot. I will say, I look forward to seeing what happens next, I’m nervous for the characters, I feel like the outside world is going to rip their hopes and dreams apart.
Make sure to check out the rest of the stops on the blog tour.
