It’s the end of January which just plain sucks. School goes back on the 4th and my house is going to be so empty without my little dude around. Plus I feel like I’ve hardly seen my daughter at all as she has been away for a massive chunk of the holiday. Literally 4 weeks out of 7 she has been away. Oh well, at least I can go back to reading during the day while ignoring the housework. I’ll take that as a positive.
Books Read – I started the year off really well. My reads were pretty good with a 5 star thrown in the mix.
Roam by C.H. Armstong – DNF
The Heart Of Stone by Ben Galley – Review to come
Conspiracy of Ravens by Lila Bowen – Review to come
God’s War by Kameron Hurley – Review to come
Who’s Afraid by Maria Lewis – Review to come
Whisper by Lynetter Noni – Maybe a review to come
Bound by Alan Baxter – Review to come
Cogheart by Peter Bunzl – Review below
Addict by Matt Doyal – Review to come.
I’m stoked with what I read. A couple from NetGalley, a self published author and a couple of Australian authors who had been on my shelves for quite a while.
Books purchased – I usually get money for Christmas to go towards books and after getting the first couple in The Shadow series, I picked up the last two as well.
I won’t be purchasing any books in February. Hopefully.
NetGalley feedback – My feedback % has been really low because I’m a click whore and I refuse to stop. One of my aims this year is to improve it. I started at 33% and have worked my way up to 48%. I’m hoping for 50% by the end of Feb and considering I have a couple I need to write-up and that should push me over.
This month I participated in my first readathon, you can find the details for that 24in48 Readathon and Readathon wrap up.
And here are the links to my recent reviews
– Take-Out: And Other Tales Of Culinary Crime by Rob Hart
– Demon’s Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti
– Never Die by Rob J. Hayes
– A Danger to Herself and Others by Alyssa B. Sheinmal
– Cogheart by Peter Bunzl
And that’s my month. I hope you have all read some great books.
You look to have had a great reading month. Hope February is working out as well for you.
Lynn 😀
