I do love a list

top ten tuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where we get to feed that part of our soul that loves lists, coming up with 10 things related to a certain topic.  Top Ten Tuesday was originally created by  The Broke and Bookish and is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here.  This week’s topic is:

Top 10 books on my Fall Spring TBR

1. Bloody Rose by Nicholas Eames
Fantasy
Released – August 2018
I’m currently reading this one. I’m about halfway through, and it’s so good, I don’t want it to end.

2. Sadie by Courtney Summers
Contemporary, YA, mystery
Released – September 2018
I have yet to order this one, but am really looking forward to it.

3. Grey Sister by Mark Lawrence
Fantasy, Grimdark
Released – April 2018
I’ve been putting this off, I know I’m going to love it, I just need to bite the bullet and pick it up. The final book in the series is out next year.

4. Obsidio by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kauffman
Sci-Fi, YA
Released – 2018
I don’t want the series to end. I’m sure they will make me cry. I have to stop putting it off so I can mark another series as complete.

5. Saga, Vol.3 by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples
Graphic novel, comic book, sci-fi, fantasy
Released – 2014
It will be a quick read, in between the other mammoth books.

6. The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton
Fantasy, retelling
Released – March 2018
I received an excerpt of this on NetGalley and loved it, then my husband got me the book for my birthday in April and for some reason I haven’t read it yet. Must fix this.

7. Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson
YA, Contemporary, Realistic fiction
Released – 2017
I received this from NetGalley months ago, I’m cleaning up the backlog before 2019 starts (holy shit, I’m making 2019 plans)

8. Outrun the Wind by Elizabeth Tammi
YA, fantasy, Greek mythology
Expected release date – 28 Nov 2018
Another NetGalley book that I haven’t gotten to yet.

9. Fortress Frontier by Myke Cole
Military fantasy, fantasy
Released – 2013
This has been sitting on my bedside table for two months. It’s book two in the series. I enjoyed book one. Someone please tell me why I struggle to get through series that I enjoy.

10. Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Fantasy, YA,
Released – 2016
It’s been on my bedside table half read for quite a while. It’s time for it to make it back to my bookshelves. It’s not bad so far, so I’m not sure why I haven’t finished it yet.

That’s my list. In all honesty, it doesn’t matter how much I want to read them, I’ll get distracted by life and other books and I’ll be lucky to get through six of those. We shall see in a couple of months.

      1. My personal favourite is All the Rage, but it is a tough read. The writing style is perfect for the character, but can be jarring and it deals with some heavy topics like victim blaming and rape.
I also really liked This is not a Test.
I really don’t think you can go wrong though.

      2. Sadie also had that jarring way to it that one can’t get over. But one thing I liked about Sadie was that although it dealt with heavy and dark topics, its not the in-your-face kind. And there are no stark visuals. It was still very Young-Adult ish.
        I found that impressive.

Thanks for the recommendations! Will definitely check them out!

  1. I’m wishing you all the luck with Obsidio! I absolutely love that book to pieces but it gave me the worst slump EVER as well. Hoping it won’t do that to you, haha.

I got Scythe on my TBR but no clue when I’ll pick it up. My boyfriend’s been raving about it ever since he read it but there’s just.. too many books I want to read?

    Happy reading! 😀
